CrossFitters may ask the question “Why do Strongman movements?”

The answers include:

– Fun!

– Variety

– “Move large loads long distances quickly”!  A CrossFit must!

– The Strong-Human moves heavier objects, often with less efficient positioning and less efficient sitimuli so they develop brute strength that increases maximal lifts with the barbell and other regular, more balanced implements.

– Improved grip strength: transfers well to heavy barbell lifts and those last few reps of pull-ups and T2B.

– Improved midline stability due to the ultra-heavy loads of yokes, stones, farmer’s walks, etc.

– Improved development of the posterior chain

– Simultaneously integrated strength training and metabolic conditioning
